Event.  This event will include a one-day trade show, extensive networking opportunities and government procurement workshops (two tracks) for both prospective and current federal contractors.

Workshop Schedule.  For agenda, click here.  Companies and individuals are encouraged to attend the Government Procurement Workshops.  Two tracks will be offered: Basic Workshop Series (for businesses considering or newly engaged in Federal Contracting) and Advanced Workshop Series (for businesses already engaged and growing in Federal Contracting).  Individuals may attend sessions within either track. All Workshops are free and open to the public to attend.

NCDBA Luncheon at Crown Coliseum.   The NCDBA will host a luncheon on August 8, 2011 at the Crown Coliseum at 12:30 pm.  For more information or to register, email Joy Thrash at jthrash@ncdba.com.

Fort Bragg Bus Tour.  The Fort Bragg bus tour is available only to exhibitors of the Trade Show.  Due to space limitations, participation as a trade show vendor (with booth display) is by invitation only. 

Speed Networking/Teaming Event.  The purpose of the speed networking/teaming event is to connect North Carolina businesses with prime contractors.  Registration for this will open shortly.  Check back for more details.

AGENCY PRESENTATIONS

  • UNC R&D Roundtable.  New grants, contracts and businesses are drawn to the State of North Carolina each year in large part by the research and development done on capacity and expertise across the 16 campuses of the UNC system. Through active partnerships with NC based military commands and private businesses, UNC faculty members and staff work to apply current research to capability gaps identified in the field. Join the conversation to find out about new initiatives that could lead to a successful partnership between your organization and the state’s public university system.
  • US Department of Commerce. Exporters of aerospace/defense products will be affected by changes the Obama Administration is making to export controls, especially the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  Learn about the status of the reform initiative.  Learn about services of the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), International Trade Administration (ITA), that can assist exporters find foreign buyers and sell into new markets.  If export financing is required, the Small Business Administration can assist exporters with loans and export payment insurance advice.  Fred Elliot, from the USDOC Aerospace/Defense Industry Team, Washington; Dan Holt, International Finance Specialist, Small Business Administration, and local ITA Trade Specialists will be available for counseling.  Competing, winning and executing a Federal contract are good indications that you are capable of exporting.

Trade Show Attendees.  Companies and individuals interested in securing, or learning how to secure, government contracts are encouraged to attend.  A quick walk-in registration the day of the event will be available.
