NEW! Project Name: P991 H-1 Helicopter Gearbox Repair & Test Facility, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina
Description of the work: Construct a 23,508-SF H-1Y/Z Gearbox Repair and Test Facility consisting of a single story high bay building. The building’s envelope will consist of CMU with brick veneer, steel studs with metal panels, translucent panels, and curvilinear standing seam roof. This facility will include a disassembly area, parts kitting area, production control/clean parts area, assembly area for the main rotor gearbox, assembly area for the intermediate and tail rotor gearboxes, flushing room and integrated quality team area, main rotor gearbox test cell and intermediate/tail rotor gearbox test cell. Sound attenuation will be provided in the test cells. All new infrastructure distribution systems to include electrical (two transformers to include a 480 volt and 4,160 volt), sanitary water and fire protection systems, sewage lines, storm water system, communication system and new roadway. Also included will be a boiler plant and air chiller along with compressed air system. The building will have cranes in several of the rooms. There will be two – 2 –ton cranes, one 15 ton crane, one 2-ton crane, and one 5-ton crane. All cranes will be designed by Navy Crane Center, built by an independent contractor and coordinated by the general contractor. Approximately value of the project is $15,000,000

NEW! Project Name: P1265 Water Tank Replacement, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
Description of the work: This project includes the demolition of eight (8) elevated storage tanks at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC and the construction of seven (7) new elevated storage tanks to replace the demolished tanks. The new elevated storage tanks will consist of a mix of composite tanks, steel fluted tanks, and a hydropillar style tank. There is also mechanical upgrades to two existing pump buildings. Each tank site and pump building will require new electrical and SCADA equipment along will the demolition and salvage of same equipment from the existing sites. Also included with this project is construction water mains to serve the new tanks and associated site work at each tank site. This project will require special coordination and phasing in order to keep the existing water system in service during construction and demolition of the elevated water storage tanks. Approximately value of the project is $10 - 25 million.
