what resources are available to help you obtain a gsa/fss contract?

If you have decided that you want to pursue a GSA/FSS contract, you need to recognize that it will take a significant time investment both before and after you obtain a contract.  The solicitation/proposal process is complex and lengthy.  And, don’t forget that once you have a FSS contract in hand, you must devote efforts to market your products and/or services in order to achieve sales.

The NCMBC does not have sufficient resources to walk you through the FSS solicitation and proposal process.  We highly suggest that you start the process by visiting www.gsa.gov/schedules where there is a wealth of information including on-line training courses.

If you need assistance, check out the NCMBC Matrix of Commercial Firms Offering Proposal Assistance for firms that offer help in developing GSA proposals.  Click here to access the Matrix.

You may also download the FREE book offered by Fedmarket.com using the link below.  We have reviewed the contents and think you will find the book very informative.  In addition, Fedmarket.com offers three-day eLab seminars during which they assist companies in completing their GSA proposal.  Click on the links below to learn about these seminars.  (By providing this information, the NCMBC confers no endorsement of products offered by Fedmarket.com for a fee.)

GSA schedule contracts are one of the most misunderstood aspects of federal contracting.  Schedule purchasing by government agencies speeds up the time it takes to make a purchase at the expense of open competition.  All of the large federal contractors (the insiders) have GSA schedules, so read the book if you want to become an insider.  The book reveals what's good, bad, and ugly in the world of GSA schedules and how they are used to close federal sales quickly.
