The Defense Innovation Unit – experimental (DIUx) has awarded 35 contracts valued at $65M. It continues to provide non-dilutive capital in the form of pilot contracts for commercial innovation that solves a Department of Defense (DoD) problem. Pilot contracts can include hardware, software, or unique services. DIUx can put a company on contract in under 3 months and more importantly, the company that has a successful pilot can easily enter into follow-on contracts with any DoD entity just as fast.
DIUx has made a recent change to its procedure. It is now accepting solution briefs not directly relevant to a current solicitation. This means you may submit your technology for review, but it must have some relevance to all or one of the five applicable DIUx focus areas:
• Artificial Intelligence
• Human Systems
• Information Technology
You may make your submissions HERE or at http://diux.mil/work-with-us/companies/non-cso-solution-brief . However, keep in mind that by submitting a solution brief, the company agrees that:
• DoD may reproduce the brief, or any portions thereof, to the extent necessary to evaluate the offer.
• DoD may also use information contained in the brief only for evaluation purposes and shall not disclose, directly or indirectly, such information to any person including potential evaluators, unless that person has been authorized to receive such information.
Finally, do not submit any classified U.S. government material, and solution briefs must be 10MB or smaller.
