PURPOSE. This event includes a one-day trade show, extensive networking opportunities and government procurement workshops for both prospective and current federal contractors. The purpose of the DTS is to build relationships between senior representatives of the Congressional delegation, the Department of Defense, other federal agencies and numerous defense contracting firms, including North Carolina small businesses. The event will include a traditional trade show, static displays and demonstrations of military equipment, informal networking opportunities, live vendor demonstrations, installation small business panels and contracting workshops.
Getting Started: Steps into the Federal Marketplace Overview. This training is an abridged introduction to doing business with the federal government. Topics will include: levels of federal purchasing – how the federal government buys products, construction and engineering and non-personal services; marketing a business to the federal government; registering as a federal contractor; and resources available to assist federal contractors in North Carolina.
North Carolina Military Business Center: Tools for Your Success. This session will include a presentation and discussion of tools, resources and techniques available from the NCMBC to help NC businesses to identify, pre-position and market themselves for federal contract opportunities, and to compete for and win federal business. The session will include a demonstration of market intelligence resources on www.ncmbc.us, and a discussion of business and proposal development resources available from the NCMBC.
