Position Description 

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) provides support to senior managers in areas of division and operational administrative security functions. They will provide administrative/customer support duties for access control and security support; update data, provide quality control, run reports, and use internal systems for proper badging. They will supervise and direct security measures within the facility/organization. 

Responsibilities 

  • •Maintain tracking records, filing systems and security related databases
  • •Recommend new administrative support processes
  • •Issue security related equipment, records, receipts and supplies
  • •Provide security support for passing, verifying, and receiving clearances; confirming SensitiveCompartmented Information (SCI) security eligibility; processing visitor requests; processingrequests for agency badges; and processing Visit Certifications and Perm Certifications
  • •Update security data; run inquiries; provide quality control; develop reports using various databases
  • •Provide support coordinating, tasking and managing security action responses from internal requestsand other government and industry organizations
  • •Assist with onboarding and out-processing of personnel to include badge creation for new personneland badge destruction for departed personnel as well as assist in updating accesses for personnel
  • •In-process new employees to include execution of SF 312 Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) andother customer vetting processes as required
  • •Provide guidance and assist with security specific needs for office renovations and move managementactivities such as but not limited to, review of furniture for classified information, review of facilitiesfor facility requirements, working with facilities and communication personnel to assist in definingrequirements, scheduling moves, etc.
  • •Conduct security in-briefings and de-briefings related to security compartmented programs and officespecific programs
  • •Develop and administer security education training; conduct foreign travel briefings and debriefings;prepare and track DD254s
  • •Responsible for organizational compliance with National Industrial Security Program (NISP)requirements
  • •Responsible for all matters related to SF-86/e-QIP submittals by organizational personnel
  • •Perform all duties in National Industrial Security System (NISS)
  • •Manage personnel clearances and process visit access requests in the Joint Personnel AdjudicationSystem (JPAS) and the Army Centralized Contracts and Security Portal (ACCS)
  • •Act as primary organizational contact with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency(DCSA) personnel
  • •Carry out assigned business development (BD) responsibilities, as required

Education/Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Security Management or related field along with 2-4 years’ relevant experience required. Must have experience in emergency preparedness, response, and contingency planning. Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work within a customer-oriented environment and provide quality service. Excellent verbal and oral communication skills and display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrated ability to work independently with the ability to respond to changing priorities. Able to execute one major and multiple small projects at a time and deliver high quality work. Teamwork focused, collaborative work style. Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and teaching skills. Problem solving skills as evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions. Prior experience in the use of the Intelligence Community badging system is considered a positive; knowledge of security specific systems, databases, websites and software, and in-depth knowledge of the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) preferred. Experience in access control, security personnel and security functional areas to include but not limited to access control software and systems, personnel security policies and procedures and facility physical security requirements preferred. Strongly prefer prior military service in the U.S. Armed Services. Must be fluent with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

Security Clearance Requirements 

This position requires obtaining and maintaining a TOP SECRET security clearance. 

Travel Requirements 

Travel is anticipated to be less than 5% within the Continental United States.
