*This position is a part-time position and the North Carolina location is not pre-determined.  The employment relationship is negotiable, i.e., the selected candidate may become a part-time community college employee, an employee of the NCMBC’s staffing firm, or the employee/owner of a company contracted to provide staff to the NCMBC.  

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a working knowledge of federal procurement systems and procedures, and of the organization, operations and procurement practices of federal executive branch departments and agencies, including but not limited to the Department of Defense.  Excellent writing skills and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet research systems are required.

Position Duties:

The Research and Federal Procurement Analyst participates on the NCMBC Headquarters team.  Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of a career that includes flexibility and willingness to change, open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives, a willingness to take risks, and a willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

The Research and Federal Procurement Analyst will

  • Identify, evaluate and document future and current business opportunities from targeted federal departments, agencies, services, commands and buying offices   
  • Manage NCMBC’s future opportunities database with support from the Data Management Technician
  • Prepare white papers on contracting topics and targeted industry opportunities
  • Conduct market research, with support from the NCMBC Data management Technician and Business Development Professionals, to identify and engage qualified businesses statewide to preposition, team and ultimately compete for targeted opportunities 
  • Coordinate public forums, with support from the NCMBC Event Coordinator, to promote awareness, analysis, prepositioning, teaming, capture and proposal submission for targeted opportunities 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the NCMBC Headquarters Team leader and the NCMBC Executive Director
