*This is a part-time, advisory position (up to 24 hours per week).  The employment relationship is negotiable, i.e., the selected candidate may either become an employee of the NCMBC’s staffing firm, or be the owner/employee of a company contracted to provide staff to the NCMBC. 
 
Minimum Requirements:
A combination of education or experience equivalent to four years in medical technologies, government procurement, research and business is required.  Must have a working knowledge of and passionate interest in medical technologies, research, and government/military medical-related requirements.  A Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM and/or equivalent work experience in medical technology and/or military medical functions is required.  A working knowledge of government acquisition is strongly preferred.  Excellent organizational, writing, communications, and social skills, and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet research techniques are required. 

Position Duties:
The Strategic Industry Professional, Medical (SIP, Medical) serves as a member of the NCMBC Strategic Industry Professional team and provides strategic advice and direction to the NCMBC Business Development, Headquarters and Defense Technology Transition Office (DEFTECH) teams regarding the federal/military medical infrastructure and marketplace.  Qualified candidates will demonstrate evidence of a career that includes:  being a self-starter; the ability to work with broad guidance, to take initiative and to look for and make the right things happen; flexibility, open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; and a willingness to take risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
