As you are aware, the Wilmington and coastal region in North Carolina were severely impacted by Hurricane Florence’s destruction. I am very pleased to report that the Wilmington Convention Center, downtown hotels and facilities that we utilize for the Southeast Region Federal Construction, Infrastructure and Environmental Summit were spared from the storm’s destruction. I have spoken with the hotels and Ironclad Brewery, these facilities sustained minor damages and are now open for business. Yesterday, I received an update from the Wilmington Convention Center (WCC) staff, the venue is currently closed to the public as it undergoes repairs from the hurricane. The WCC plans to reopen and be fully operational on October 8th. We are very happy to announce that the Summit will go on as planned – and will be the first convention back into the Wilmington area since the hurricane.
Thank you and we look forward to having you with us in Wilmington!
