By Tammy Haines, Events Manager, Cumberland County Business Council
Each year vendors from across North Carolina have the opportunity to interact face to face with the very military customers that they are after -- military cardholders. The Cumberland County Business Council offers this opportunity twice-annually at its GPC Tradeshow held at the Fort Bragg Officer’s Club.
What is GPC? GPC is a government purchase card, which allows cardholders to purchase certain items for the Army and Air Force. The trade show is held twice annually, in February and August. The purpose of the trade show is to introduce buyers to suppliers. In February 2007, over 175 vendors participated in the tradeshows. Many vendors reported back to the Business Council that they established relationships that turned into sales.
The GPC Trade Show also offers training and education in the way of cardholder "user" briefings and vendor briefings. The Business Council works in conjunction with the Fort Bragg Procurement Department to ensure that all cardholders on the installations are invited to attend the tradeshow.
How do you become a vendor at this event? For your investment of $275 per tabletop display, or $300 for wall space, the Cumberland County Business Council will provide your company with a table, electricity, lunch passes and cardholder exposure.
