Capable and successful businesses – engaged in the federal marketplace – are the key to expanding our State’s economy through government contracting. They are also the engine for NCMBC success.
North Carolina businesses, notified and/or assisted by the NCMBC’s business development team, won 163 new federal contracts in calendar year 2007. The total value of these contracts is between $406,390,660 and $1,086,122,761, depending on options exercised by the government on these contracts.
This is a tremendous achievement – not just for the NCMBC business development team, but for the businesses in North Carolina that engaged in this market and won these contracts. These companies – not the NCMBC – are ultimately the drivers for this success.
To achieve these results, NCMBC business developers reviewed and disseminated 1,871 federal opportunities in 2007, and made 297,514 company notifications. They also spent countless hours helping businesses understand federal solicitations and to submit quotes and winning proposals.
But in the end, the businesses won these contracts. They won because they were the best companies, with the best products and services, at the best prices with the best proposals. In short, they offered the best value to the government.
The NCMBC has provided business development services to North Carolina businesses since mid-2005. With the 2007 results, companies notified and/or assisted by the NCMBC business development team have won a total of 361 federal contracts – worth between $591,126,221 and $1,371,853,321. Linking great companies to real opportunities – and helping them win – works in our state.
The NCMBC business development team operates from 10 offices across the state, including eight community colleges full time, and three community colleges part time. For a complete list of NCMBC staff statewide and their contact information, visit www.ncmbc.us, and click on the “contact us” tab.
