The North Carolina Procurement Technical Assistance Center (NC PTAC) is hosting a North Carolina Manufacturing Workshop from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on May 28 at the Jarrell Lecture Hall, located in the Jackson Library on the campus UNC-G located in Greensboro, NC.
The key note speaker for this event will be Eleanor Holland, Small Business Director for the Defense Supply Center – Columbus (DSCC), one of the major commodity buyers for the Department of Defense. Ms. Holland will discuss the operations of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) of which DSCC is one of its three major buying agencies. She will be joined by representatives of the North Carolina Industrial Extension Service who will discuss IES’s assistance programs for Lean manufacturing, ISO certifications, and new environmental requirements. The Military Business Center will also participate and focus a discussion on the NCMBC Defense Machining Initiative and the www.SourceNC.com website. The U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Services Division representative will also attend and discuss exporting opportunities and international trade issues.
The cost of this workshop is $35/attendee if paid before May 8, and $40/attendee if paid thereafter.
