Throughout the course of daily operations, NC Military Business Center staff monitor current and forecasted military construction (MILCON) opportunities in North Carolina. Although Fiscal Year 2009 (FY09) has been a very active year already, there are still MILCON opportunities that remain. By our estimation, the following FY09 MILCON projects are currently or may still be advertised this fiscal year:

  • Design/Build Physical Fitness Center, Camp Lejeune, $35 million (Current Pre-Solicitation, Full and Open Competition, RFP anticipated June 17, 2009)
  • Early Contractor Involvement Physical Fitness Center, Camp Lejeune, $15 million (Current Pre-Solicitation, Full and Open Competition, RFP was anticipated June 3, 2009)
  • MARSOC Child Development Center, Camp Lejeune, $13 million (Current Pre-Solicitation, Total Small Business Set-Aside, Combined with GWOT Child Development Center, RFP anticipated June 30, 2009)
  • GWOT Child Development Center, Camp Lejeune, $16 million (Current Pre-Solicitation, Total Small Business Set-Aside, Combined with MARSOC Child Development Center, RFP anticipated June 30, 2009)
  • Machine Gun Range G-10, Camp Lejeune, $17 million
  • Modify K-Ranges, Phase II, Camp Lejeune, $18 million
  • Infantry Platoon Battle Course SR-1, Camp Lejeune, $16 million
  • Irwin Middle School Replacement, Fort Bragg, $27 million
  • SOF CA & PSYOPS Facility, Fort Bragg, $14 million
  • Security/Force Protection Facility, Fort Bragg, $4 million (Current Pre-Solicitation, 8(a) NC District Competition, RFP was anticipated June 11, 2009)

In addition, early advertisement and competition of FY10 projects is anticipated. MILCON and other project forecasts are maintained by the NC Military Business Center and are available online at http://www.ncmbc.us/mod/ (contact NCMBC for login information).
