Recent Contract Awards to NC Firms
Anson Contractors, Inc., Polkton, NC, Anson County, has won a $767,773.85 contract from the Department of Transportation with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding for the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge Project RRP-PED 10(1).
Gary L. Corn Inc., Hendersonville, NC, Henderson County, has been awarded a $18,676.00 contract with ARRA funding by the Forest Service for Mills River Site Survey, NC.
McNair’s Floor Maintenance, Charlotte, NC, Mecklenburg County, has won a contract worth $6,326.00 from the Department of Army for Steam Cleaning of Carpets at Various U.S. Armed Forces Recruiting Stations Located in the West Virginia Area.

SBA Proposes Changes to Some SB Size Standards
The US Small Business Administration has issued notices proposing increases in the small business size standards for five industries in North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Sector 72, Accommodation and Food Services, and for 18 industries in NAICS Sector 81, Other Services.
Comments regarding the proposed changes are due by December 21, 2009.

Bill would jail crooks who wrongly get set-aside contracts
Service-disabled veterans may get some added protection from bilkers who win government set-aside contracts by misrepresenting themselves as veteran-owned businesses. Officers of a company that misrepresented itself as a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business could be punished by as much as $5,000 in fines, two years in prison, or both, according to legislation that was introduced Nov. 19.
