Mar 6, 2010 - 5th Annual M/WBE Business Opportunity Fair and Educational Symposium
The City of Greenville, Greenville Utilities Commission, and East Carolina University has re-scheduled its 5th Annual M/WBE Business Opportunity Fair and Educational Symposium better known as the “Mix-n-Meet-n-Learn” for Saturday, March 6, 2010.
This year’s event is the theme, “Diversity Works!”, recognizes the competitive advantage businesses enjoy when leveraging the knowledge, skills, and expertise of diverse firms.
The theme is also designed enhance diversity and promote opportunities for small, women-owned and minority-owned businesses.
Keynote speaker, NC State Senator Don Davis of District Five, will touch on how diversity works for North Carolina during the opening session. A proponent of small business and its impact on economic development for the eastern region, Senator Davis will provide keen insight into happenings in the General Assembly.
Following the opening session, business owners will have the opportunity to network and learn how to do business with government, institutions of higher education, prime contracting firms, and other large companies doing business in the East.
Representatives from the NC Institute of Minority Economic Development (NCIMED), the NC Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB Office) will be presenting and provide Q&A sessions.
Training sessions and Seminars will cover: Financing & Bonding (NCIMED) and new Statewide Uniform Certification program (HUB Office), Business Growth from Coach Michael Washington of Action Coach Business Coaching.
