Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) – Introduction and Update.
Find out what’s happening and how and why you should consider responding to the Defense Innovation Unit’s (diu.mil) Solicitations. DIU is the only Department of Defense organization focused exclusively on fielding and scaling commercial technology across the U.S. military to help solve critical problems. Mr. Mike Chahinian, DIU Commercial Engagement Executive will make a presentation and answer your questions, such as, what are the key elements of a successful submission.
As the Commercial Engagement Executive for the Autonomy Portfolio, Mike is responsible for DIU’s outreach to the drone, robotics, and automation industries. His responsibilities include finding the best companies, conducting due diligence, and promoting the DIU brand.
As a ship officer in the Navy he led high-tech divisions on advanced destroyers, as well as the campaign that won the Navy’s highest award for public affairs. As an investment banker at Citigroup he applied automation to the finance industry, and mapped each major automaker’s efforts in autonomy. As a congressional staffer he learned the inner workings of the U.S. government. Mike joined DIU in December 2018.
The NC Military Business Center, the NC Community College System, and the State of North Carolina do not officially endorse events. These items are posted strictly for the information and convenience of NCMBC customers.
