DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY (DLA) AVIATION WEB CONFERENCE SERIES (AUG 26 & SEPT 2, 9, 16)

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) and SC Aerospace will host a no-charge, four-part WEBCON mini-series to provide aerospace businesses with information on doing business with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation. This is a component of the NCMBC’s ongoing Federal Agency WEBCON Series.
Who should attend? Aerospace suppliers in North and South Carolina and beyond that are interested in learning more about doing business with DLA Aviation.
Intent. The intent of the NCMBC federal agency WEBCON series is to sustain and grow the defense industrial base in North Carolina, to keep small businesses engaged in the federal market, and to help defense and federal agencies meet their requirements and complete their acquisitions, despite the COVID-19 crisis. Participation in this WEBCON series by out-of-state companies interested in teaming with North Carolina firms is also strongly encouraged.
Platform. The NCMBC will host this web conference on the NCMBC’s Zoom for Government platform. Zoom information will be provided in your registration confirmation email and also emailed out prior to each training as a reminder.
Registration. There is no fee to attend any of the web conferences; however, pre-registration is required in order to receive the virtual platform credentials.
Part 1: DLA Overview and DLA Internet Bid Board (DIBBs)
Focus: DLA Aviation is the major subordinate command for aviation related purchases within DLA. DLA contracts over $1B annually with small business. This presentation includes an overview of DLA’s supply chain, how DLA purchases products and an introduction to navigating the DLA Internet Bid Board where DLA solicitations are posted.
Part 2: Source Approval Requests and Replenishment Parts Purchase and Borrow Program
Focus: Reverse Engineering and Source Approval is a major initiative at DLA Aviation. DLA Aviation is continually looking for additional sources to provide products, increase competition and reduce prices. This presentation includes an overview of the Aviation Source Approval Process, information on how to submit a Source Approval Request and a virtual tour of the Aviation Replenishment Parts Purchase and Borrow Program
Part 3: Best Value Contracting (Supplier Performance Risk System) & Technical Data Access
Focus: Best value contracting is a key component of DLA Aviation’s contracting process. This presentation introduces suppliers to the Supplier Performance Risk System and provides tips to suppliers on how to maintain high best value scores. Many solicitations from DLA Aviation come with technical data packages for the supplier to build to print. The training details how to gain access to the DLA CFolders system to view drawings and specifications.
Part 4: Pre-Award and Post-Award Tips for Success
Focus: DLA Aviation awards $1B to small businesses per year. This presentation provides tips and techniques for success as you venture into the DLA contracting environment. Advanced DIBBS searches, Post Award Requests, and subcontracting opportunities are a few topics that are discussed.
