Biden Admin Launches U.S. 3D Printing Program: AM Forward

President Joe Biden has launched the AM Forward program to help grow the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM) in the United States. This program will assist small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adopting 3D printing through federal programs with the goal of achieving a more resilient supply chain, while growing the industry and reshoring production. A few highlights include:

  • Financing to small manufacturers to install 3D printing equipment at a more accessible cost;
  • Technical assistance to SME manufacturers;
  • Building the 3D printing workforce; and
  • Setting industry standards

Additionally, large companies already doing business with the federal government will strive to bring on SMEs as external sources of 3D printing or related technologies, assist SMEs in adopting AM capabilities, and assist SMEs with research. Partners include GE Aviation, Raytheon, Siemens Energy, Lockheed Martin, and Honeywell.
