Media Advisory: Federal Construction Summit to Connect Business with Federal Agencies in SoutheastFederal Construction and Infrastructure Summit to Connect Business with Federal Agencies and Bases from VA, NC, SC, GA and FL – to include $1.7 Billion in Hurricane Florence Recovery Work at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point October 19, 2020 – The Office of Senator Richard Burr, the Office of Senator Thom Tillis and the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) are pleased to announce the 2020 Southeast Region Federal Construction, Infrastructure & Environmental Summit on October 21-22, on a virtual platform. The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is a business development and technology transition entity of the North Carolina Community College System, headquartered at Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC). The mission of the NCMBC is to leverage military and other federal business opportunities to expand the economy, grow jobs and improve quality of life in North Carolina. The “Summit” brings together over 800 representatives of: six Districts of the US Army Corps of Engineers; Naval Facilities Engineering Command; Fort Bragg; Marine Corps Installations East/Camp Lejeune; Seymour Johnson AFB; Fort Gordon (GA) and Fort Lee (VA); US Coast Guard; Department of Veterans Affairs; General Services Administration; other federal agencies; and general and specialty contractors, designers and construction suppliers from throughout the Southeast. The Summit is the premier, best-established and most-recognized federal infrastructure event in the Southeast. Although the Summit will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual networking activities will still allow businesses to market their services and products directly to over hundreds of military, federal and industry participants. Businesses that are already engaged or that want to perform in the federal market need to be at the Summit. “Even during a global pandemic,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director, “the Summit is an absolutely critical event for federal infrastructure contractors, military bases and commands, and federal agencies. Anyone who buys, executes, designs, builds, supplies or provides facility services to federal installations and agencies in the Southeast needs to participate in this Summit. With the senior leadership of the Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Command and federal agencies participating – and over $2 billion in projects in our region in FY21 – the 2020 Summit is a ‘must attend’ event for everyone in the federal infrastructure market.” KEYNOTE SPEAKERS.
