NC Military Business Center Welcomes Colonel (Ret.) Martin Hendrix III as Strategic Industry Professional for DoD Industrial Operations

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Colonel (Retired) Martin “Jimmy” Hendrix III as Strategic Industry Professional for Department of Defense (DoD) Industrial Operations.

Serving businesses statewide from Aberdeen, NC and Fayetteville Technical Community College, Jimmy will focus on developing strategies to connect and to help North Carolina businesses to win contract opportunities with arsenals, depots and armories in the DoD organic industrial base.  Working in partnership with the NCMBC’s North Carolina Defense Technology Transition Office (DEFTECH). Jimmy will also coordinate with these DoD industrial activities to identify their future requirements, and will source and assist North Carolina innovators to meet the advanced technology needs of these organizations.

“Jimmy brings unique experience to the NCMBC that will directly benefit businesses capable of supporting the DoD organic industrial base,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director.  “His experience in command at Rock Island Arsenal, his direct knowledge of DoD advanced manufacturing and his career as an Army logistician will prove invaluable in helping the NCMBC to identify – and businesses to win – contract opportunities with arsenals, depots and armories across the United States.”

Prior to joining NCMBC, Jimmy retired from the US Army after more than 25 years of service as a multifunctional logistics officer.  His final assignment was command of the Rock Island Arsenal – Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC).  RIA-JMTC is the Army’s only vertically integrated metal manufacturing organization and includes the Army’s Center of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing.

Jimmy’s experience includes leading US Army logistics organizations and staffs in the Central and Eastern United States, the Republic of Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He has commanded Army formations at the company, battalion, and brigade level.  Jimmy has experience supporting installation, training, and combat logistics, as well as support to disaster relief and other civil operations.  He holds Masters Degrees from both the US Naval War College and the US Army War College in National Security and Strategy.
