NC Military Business Center Welcomes Donna Walton as Business Development Professional

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Donna Walton as Business Development Professional located at Coastal Carolina Community College (CCCC) in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Serving businesses statewide, Donna will also provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses in the region to compete for, win and grow jobs through federal contracts.
“The business development team is the heart of the NCMBC,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director. “Donna’s extensive experience in the civil service with the US Army Corps of Engineers and US Coast Guard will prove invaluable to businesses within the CCCC service area, surrounding counties and statewide  in competing for, winning and successfully executing federal contracts – and growing jobs in our state.”
Donna will identify current and future prime and subcontractor opportunities from commands at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and beyond, including: Marine Corps Installations East; Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune; Marine Forces Special Operations Command and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Donna will notify companies statewide of these opportunities, and will provide one-on-one assistance to help companies in Onslow, Duplin and Jones counties to bid on and win federal contracts.
Prior to joining the NCMBC, Donna retired from the federal government with 29 years of civil service. Donna retired as the Deputy for Small Business, Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District. Donna served in this position for 10 years, helping industry through the federal acquisition process and helping the District Commander achieve the command’s socio-economic and small business goals. Additionally, Donna spent 19 years with the USCG, Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, NC, including as a warranted contracting officer/contract specialist with the Long Range Surveillance  product line. Donna’s aviation experience also includes the inventory management side of depot level maintenance, as ALC provides depot maintenance and supplies for all USCG Aircraft.
