NC Military Business Center Welcomes TJ Gilroy as Business Development Professional in Support of the Triangle Region

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of TJ Gilroy as Business Development Professional.  Serving businesses statewide from Wake Technical Community College (WTCC) and other colleges in the region, TJ will focus his efforts on the North Carolina National Guard and soldier systems opportunities.  TJ will also provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses in the region to compete for, win and grow jobs through all federal contracts in the following counties: Wake, Lee, Chatham, Durham, Orange, Caswell, Person, Granville, Vance, Franklin and Warren.

“The business development team is the heart of the NCMBC,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director.  “TJ’s extensive experience in tactical equipment and manufacturing will prove invaluable to businesses within the Triangle region and statewide in competing for, winning and successfully executing federal contracts – and growing jobs in our state.”

TJ will identify current and future prime and subcontractor opportunities from the National Guard, Army, Marine Corps and other sources of soldier systems and small arms opportunities.  He will notify companies statewide of these opportunities, and will provide one-on-one assistance to help companies in his assigned counties to bid on and win federal contracts.

Prior to joining the NCMBC, TJ was a Marine Corps aviator.  After leaving the Marines, TJ became a tactical equipment executive for three distribution companies, two of which were awarded Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support Programs (SOE TLSP) and Fire and Emergency Equipment Tailored Logistics Support Programs (FESE TLSP) contracts from the Defense Logistics Agency. As such, he developed products, hired and trained sales teams, wrote and executed proposals for government contracts, and worked directly with the manufacturers of tactical equipment. He also developed a marketing program for manufacturers to get their product information directly into the hands of military decision makers.

TJ is a graduate of the University of Virginia, Naval Flight School and Aviation Safety Course, and is certified as a Behavioral Consultant for DISC personality assessments. He is also the author of Authenticity Advantage, Employ Your GIFT, The Purpose Master Key, and Father Fracture.
