NCMBC Program Manager Appointed Chairwoman, SBA Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs

May 6, 2020 – The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Fran Perez-Wilhite, Program Manager, Veteran-Owned Businesses Development located in Charlotte at Central Piedmont Community College, as the Chairwoman for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Advisory Committee on Veteran Business Affairs.  

“We’re looking forward to working with Fran to bring a new perspective and leadership to our discussion,” said Larry Stubblefield, Associate Administrator for the Office of Veterans Business Development. “The efforts of…[advisory]committees continue to positively influence SBA’s veteran programs and related policy decisions. I look forward to working with Fran, the ACVBA, and [advisory committee]…members during these quarterly meetings.*”

Since 2006, Fran has served as the NCMBC’s Charlotte-metro representative to identify the most lucrative federal contract opportunities (prime and subcontracts), notify and pre-position North Carolina firms for specific opportunities, and assist firms to understand government solicitations, prepare winning proposals and to successfully execute federal contracts.   Locally, Fran assists businesses in Anson, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly & Union counties.  Statewide, Fran assists businesses in navigating the Department of Veterans Affairs’ and the Department of Defense’s medical procurement processes.  

Fran has also served on other national federal agency boards in Washington, DC.   She has served on the US Small Business Administration Interagency Task Force since 2019.  She also recently completed her service (2014-2019) as an appointee to the US Department of Veterans Affairs Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veterans’ Illnesses.
