Fayetteville Technical Community College and the NC Military Business Center Welcome Barbara Bowles as Contract Vehicle and Supply Chain Strategic Industry Professional

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Bowles as Contract Vehicle and Supply Chain Strategic Industry Professional located in the office in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Serving businesses statewide, Barbara will focus her efforts on multiple-award contract opportunities; Department of Defense supply chain opportunities; service contracting management and strategic planning; source selection process and procedures; and acquisition planning and contract types.
“With defense contracting constantly becoming more consolidated – and with more contracts being awarded through large, multiple-award contract vehicles – it is extremely important that the NCMBC monitor, analyze and help businesses in our state compete for these contract opportunities, and to connect major primes with the supply chain in North Carolina,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director. “Ms. Bowles’ unparalleled experience in federal contracting will make her ideal for this role, and a tremendous asset for the NCMBC and businesses in our state.”
Prior to joining the NCMBC, Ms. Bowles was the Director of Contracting with the US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She retired from the federal government with 32 years of civilian service, experiencing contracting with the Department of the Army, the Department of the Air Force, and the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
Ms. Bowles began her contracting career in 1996 and remained at USASOC from 2000 to 2020 where she performed multiple roles including Small Business Specialist and Deputy Director until she accepted the position of Director in 2008. Ms. Bowles served as USASOC’s Army Acquisition Career Management Advocate and was a member of the Army Acquisition Corps.
