The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the selection of Rick Gilmore, Business Development Professional in the Triad Region, to serve on the Industries of the Blind’s (IOB) Board of Directors in Greensboro, North Carolina.

“We are very excited for Rick to join the IOB Board,” said Industries of the Blind CEO, Joshua Gould. “Rick has a long history of working with North Carolina companies to increase their business with the federal government and the US military.  As a dedicated partner and supplier to the armed services and other government agencies, IOB is thrilled to work closely with Rick to bring business and increased employment opportunities to IOB and our dedicated associates.”

Mr. Gilmore has been a staff member of the NCMBC – which is headquartered at Fayetteville Technical Community College – since October 2006. Mr. Gilmore staffs the NCMBC office at the Nussbaum Center in Greensboro, which is co-located with and supported by Guilford Technical  Community College (GTCC) and its Small Business Center.  Mr. Gilmore assists North Carolina businesses in winning federal business opportunities and thereby growing their companies. To reach that goal, he is responsible for the identification of federal government requirements and bidding opportunities and assisting North Carolina companies to compete for and win both prime and subcontracting opportunities.  Mr. Gilmore focuses on identifying advanced manufacturing, ground vehicle, furniture and other lucrative business opportunities, and works with North Carolina businesses within those industries and throughout his geographic area of responsibility in the northwest sector of the state.

“The NCMBC is very honored and proud to have Rick Gilmore serve on the IOB board of directors,” said Scott Dorney.  “This selection reflects positively on the impact of the NCMBC and on Mr. Gilmore’s commitment to help business entities like IOB grow in this market sector – which is the second largest sector of the North Carolina economy.”

Prior to joining NCMBC, Rick was a Project Manager and Account Executive with AT&T/Lucent Federal Systems, General Dynamics and SIGCOM. Rick is an US Army veteran and holds a BS in Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Masters in Project Management from George Washington University.
