Biography. Barbara Bowles joined the North Carolina Military Business Center in January 2021 as a member of its Strategic Industry Team.  Her focus will be to support the Business Development, Training and Assistance Program and the Strategic Initiatives Programs.

Prior to joining the NCMBC, Ms. Bowles was the Director of Contracting with the US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  She retired from the federal government with 32 years of civilian service, experiencing contracting with the Department of the Army, the Department of the Air Force, and the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

Ms. Bowles began her contacting career in 1996 and remained at USASOC from 2000 to 2020 where she performed multiple roles including Small Business Specialist and Deputy Director until she accepted the position of Director in 2008.  Ms. Bowles served as USASOC’s Army Acquisition Career Management Advocate and was a member of the Army Acquisition Corps.  

Ms. Bowles has been a resident of North Carolina since 1998 and makes Fayetteville her home.
