The North Carolina Military Business Center is pleased to host the following workshop trainings. Stover & Associates, Inc. will conduct these workshops for the NCMBC.  Stover has conducted management and technical assistance projects and training development since its founding in 1990, and has provided federal contracting-related training under contract with the US Small Business Administration since 2010.

COST. $295 per person, per workshop.  This fee includes the respective days of instruction, participant materials (provided electronically) and the virtual platform use.

REGISTRATION.  Class sizes will be limited to 15-20 attendees per iteration and seating will be provided to those who complete their registration.

MATERIALS.  Virtual credentials and training materials will be emailed out a week prior to the respective workshop.

PLATFORM.  Training will be delivered via the Internet using the Adobe Connect platform.

  • Examine methods of engaging customers and gathering relevant intelligence about customers and competitors to develop a winning solution
  • Organize, design and prepare the technical volume of proposals in response to Federal Government Solicitations
  • Develop themes using a “features and benefits” approach that separates your proposal from the competition
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies and cost proposals in response to the marketplace environment and Federal Government solicitations

Day 1 (3.5 hours)

  • Lesson 1- Proposal Preparation Refresher
  • Lesson 2- Pre-Planning
  • Class Exercise: Pre-Planning/Capture Management (in virtual break-out rooms)
  • Lesson 3- Bid/No-Bid Decision Making

Day 2 (4.5 hours)

  • Lesson 4-Proposal Game Plan
  • Class Exercise- Proposal Game Plan (in virtual break-out rooms)
  • Lesson 5-Pricing
  • Class Exercise-Pricing (in virtual break-out rooms)

Please note: homework will be assigned at the conclusion of Day 2 and will require approximately 2-3 hours of effort

Day 3 (4.25 hours)

  • Lesson 6-Finishing Up
  • Class Exercise-Finishing Up (in virtual break-out rooms)
  • Lesson 7-Source Selection
  • Class Exercise-Source Selection (leader of each group will present an oral presentation of the group’s proposal. Following the final presentation, students will participate in a “source selection evaluation” of the technical proposals developed in earlier exercises.
  • Lesson 8-Program Management, Strategies for Small/Medium Sized Businesses
  • Wrap-Up
