SUMMARY:Accelerate Economic Equity Summit + Opportunity Fair
DESCRIPTION:Description\nPresented in partnership with East Greensboro NOW and Asheboro-Randolph Chamber of Commerce. \nThe Accelerate Economic Equity Summit + Opportunity Fair will be held on Thursday\, May 25th\, 2023 at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center. \nThe purpose of this event is to educate the business community about the importance of purposeful\, targeted Equity\, Diversity\, and Inclusion (EDI) efforts and to expose ethnic minority-owned firms in the region to contract opportunities with large companies\, public institutions\, and municipalities. \nBeginning at 9AM\, the Economic Equity Summit portion of Accelerate will consist of speakers and panels regarding the current state of EDI in our community\, barriers to economic equity\, and best practices for EDI initiatives. There will be a plated luncheon from 11:30 AM– 1 PM anchored by featured speaker Kevin J. Price\, President & CEO of the National Institute of Minority Economic Development. \nThe Minority Business Opportunity Fair will be held from 3 – 6PM. Companies with contracting opportunities and/or supplier diversity goals can sponsor a booth at the Fair. Attendance at the Fair will be open to local firms. The goal of the Minority Business Opportunity Fair is mutually-beneficial relationships between minority-owned businesses and regional anchor institutions. There will also be business resources\, breakout sessions\, and strategic networking. \nWe are excited to invite your organization to be a sponsor of this important event. Depending on your current needs and resources\, we have several opportunities to engage. \nAs a sponsor of Accelerate\, you will meet and partner with minority-owned firms in our region\, engage in vital discussions about EDI\, and be part of a broader acceleration toward economic equity. \nTickets to the Economic Equity Summit and Luncheon are available for members @ $75 and non-members @ $100.  The Minority Business Opportunity Fair is open to the public at no charge. \nSponsorships are available for the entire event.
