SUMMARY:Expanding Care for Our Veterans: VA Health Care and Benefits for Veterans Exposed to Toxic Substances
DESCRIPTION:The PACT Act\, signed into law in August 2022\, expands health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits\, Agent Orange and other toxic substances. It provides generations of veterans – and their survivors – with the care and benefits they’ve earned. As a result\, North Carolina’s expansive military and veteran communities are significantly affected by the PACT Act. \nThe act is expected to bring an additional 3.5 million veterans into the US Department of Veterans Affairs care\, which will require an emphasis on modernization\, development and expansion of information technology systems. It will also require expanding claims processing for newly eligible veterans. \nREGISTER HERE \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis live event will explore implementation efforts of the PACT Act and regional impacts of the legislation. It will also look deeper into how North Carolina businesses can support program rollout.
