DESCRIPTION:Join us Virtually this Friday\, November 10\, 2023\, from 8 – 10 am ET for another DEFTECH Coffee Call. \n(TEAMS Link Below) \n**Note: Dr. Sammy Choi could not present last week on the MIO-Forum.  Dr. Choi is available and will provide insight into medical research opportunities.  We are one month from the MIO-Forum\, so attend and learn from Dr. Choi current and future Warfighting needs.** \n8 – 9 am: Early Bird Session: Network and discuss business opportunities\, defense trends\, and innovation insights. Companies in the DEFTECH Community also present their breakthrough ideas. \n9 – 10 am: Main Event:  A preview of The Military Medical Innovation Operational (MIO)-Forum 7 Dec 2023   Who\, what\, where\, when\, and WHY attend. \nSpeaker: Dr. Y. Sammy Choi\, Womack Army Medical Center\, Director\, Department of Research\, Cape Fear Research Consortium\, and the Fort Liberty Research Institute. \nDr. Choi did his undergraduate studies at Oral Roberts University\, majoring in biomedical chemistry\, medical school training at the University of Oklahoma\, and a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center\, Fort Bliss\, Texas. For 34 years\, he has worked at Womack Army Medical Center (Womack) and Fort Liberty\, NC. \nDr. Choi founded the Department of Research in 2008 and the Cape Fear Research Consortium in 2016 to build collaborative research with area institutions. In 2017\, through a partnership between Womack\, Fort Liberty\, and the Geneva Foundation\, he created the Fort Bragg\, now Ft Liberty\, Research Institute with a mission to optimize human performance and military readiness. \nHis clinical and research interests include remote monitoring of Soldiers with type 1 diabetes\, human performance optimization\, and metabolic health.
