DESCRIPTION:This event is co-sponsored by the NC CDR\, UNC’s Office of Research Development\, Innovate Carolina\, and the North Carolina Military Business Center to advance the collaboration among NC University researchers\, the NC Innovation ecosystem\, and the Defense sector to better identify\, understand and pursue research in support of national defense.  A special thank you to UNC Innovate Carolina for providing the venue\, refreshments\, and lunch!    Go Tarheels! \nWho:   Nicole R. Fox\,  Army FUZE Strategic Integration Team Lead\, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition\, Logistics\, and Technology). (Speaker Bio Below) \nWhat:  Hybrid webinar to discuss basic & applied research and other topics germane to research and development in support of Army warfighter needs. \nWhen:  Friday\, 21 August 2026\, 1000-1130hrs…followed by a light lunch networking session for those attending in-person. \nWhere:  Either webinar or attend in-person at:  Room 050 at The Junction\, home to the Innovate Carolina team (136 E. Rosemary Street). The room will open at 9:30am for coffee and networking. PARKING: If you require parking\, you may use the nearby Rosemary Parking Deck (125 E. Rosemary Street). Cost is $1 per hour for first two hours\, $2 per hour beyond two hours\, and $18 daily maximum. \nHow:  Must register at the link below to receive the Zoom meeting link.   In-person attendance limited to 45 persons. \nREGISTRATION \nSpeaker Bio:   \nNicole R. Fox serves as the Army FUZE Strategic Integration Team Lead. With extensive experience in advancing small business innovation\, she previously served as the Army’s Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) | Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Technology Transition Director and led the Contested Logistics & Sustainment S&T Transition Broker Team.  Prior to these roles\, she managed the Army Research Office’s SBIR and STTR programs starting in 2011. Her earlier contributions to the organization include serving as the Army STTR Program Specialist from 2001 to 2005\, and again from 2010 to 2011. \nMs. Fox has been widely recognized for her dedication to fostering technology commercialization and national security innovation. Her prestigious honors include: \n\nCivilian Service Commendation Medal (awarded across multiple years)\nCommander’s Award for Civilian Service\nAchievement Medal for Civilian Service\nSmall Business Technology Council Champion of Small Business Technology Commercialization\n\n
