SUMMARY:Webinar: DoW and Army Procurement\, Acquisition\, & Budget Outlook
DESCRIPTION:Join the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) for a virtual discussion on recent Department of War (DoW) updates to procurement and acquisition processes\, the Army’s new Transformation and Training Command\, and the potential impacts on the upcoming DoW budget\, RDT&E priorities\, and small businesses. \nThe panel discussion will consist of Dr. Bruce Jette\, former Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition\, Logistics\, and Technology and Mr. Joseph Corrigan\, Principal\, Corrigan & Ussery LLC\, and moderated by Colonel (Ret) Dennis Lewis\, Strategic & International Programs for the NCMBC. \nWhen. Credentials will be emailed out a few days prior to the training. \nREGISTER\nSpeaker Biographies:  \nDr. Bruce D. Jette was confirmed by the United States Senate as the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition\, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)) on December 20\, 2017\, and sworn into office on January 2\, 2018.  In this position\, he served as the Army Acquisition Executive\, the Senior Procurement Executive\, the Science Advisor to the Secretary of the Army\, and the Army’s Senior Research and Development official.  He also has principal responsibility for all Department of the Army matters related to logistics. \nDr. Jette led the execution of the Army’s acquisition function and the acquisition management system.  His responsibilities included providing oversight for the life cycle management and sustainment of Army weapon systems and equipment from research and development through test and evaluation\, acquisition\, logistics\, fielding\, and disposition.  He was also responsible for appointing\, managing\, and evaluating program executive officers and managing the Army Acquisition Corps and Army Acquisition Workforce.  In addition\, he oversaw the Elimination of Chemical Weapons program. \nPrior to his confirmation\, Dr. Jette served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Synovision Solutions\, LLC\, an innovative company he founded to provide management and technical consulting\, engineering services\, and project management in support of military and governmental agencies\, as well as commercial industry. \nA decorated veteran of 28 years of active duty\, Dr. Jette retired as a Colonel following a career that included several armor and cavalry company commands\, two overseas tours\, various staff assignments at the battalion and brigade level\, and over two years of operational deployments to Afghanistan\, Iraq and Kuwait.  Highlights of his previous acquisition service include founding the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force; serving as Program Manager for Soldier Systems which led to the establishment of Program Executive Office Soldier; and being honored as U.S. Army PM of the Year for his success as Product Manager for all Army airborne electronic warfare systems. \nDr. Jette is a graduate of the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering and Chemistry.  He also holds both a Master of Science degree and a Doctorate in Electronic Materials from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He was an Adjunct Professor at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. \nDr. Jette serves on several boards and is the President & CEO of Innvistra LLC\, a consulting company focused on defense acquisition. \nJoseph (Joe) Corrigan is a retired Army Officer with over 23 years of active-duty service in the 10th Mountain Division\, the 3rd Infantry Division\, and the 25th Infantry Division. While in the 25th Infantry Division\, he deployed to Haiti as the Deputy Multi-National Force Engineer\, providing combat engineering\, construction\, and real estate support to the Multi-National Force. Joe’s Corps of Engineers postings include assignments at the New York District’s West Point area office\, the Mobile\, Alabama\, District\, and the Honolulu\, Hawaii\, District. While in Mobile\, he led a team of emergency management professionals and engineers to develop the cost estimate for the reconstruction of Iraq. He was then deployed as the leader of the Gulf Region Division’s advance party and later as the Division’s Operations Officer. \nJoe served two tours in the Army’s Office of Legislative Liaison. During his first assignment\, he worked with the House and Senate Armed Services Committees\, handling Military Construction\, installation issues\, and land management. This position involved handling congressional notifications for above-threshold reprogramming actions and for lease notifications. He later became the Deputy Chief of the Programs Division\, responsible for working with the Armed Services Committees on the entire Army legislative program. During his final tour\, he served as the legislative assistant to the Secretary of the Army. \nFollowing retirement\, Joe worked in government relations\, first for several law firms and more recently as a principal at Corrigan & Ussery. Today\, Joe represents over twenty diverse companies in the fields of engineering\, manufacturing\, energy\, armor\, services\, and aviation. He routinely works with the House and Senate Authorizing and Appropriations Committees. In addition to defense\, he works with several other House and Senate authorizing committees. The Committees include House Foreign Affairs\, Government Oversight and Reform\, Homeland Security\, Natural Resources\, Rules\, Transportation and Infrastructure\, Small Business\, Veterans Affairs\, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Additionally\, he collaborates with the Senate counterparts of these Committees and the relevant appropriations subcommittees. \nA 1982 West Point graduate\, Joe earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. \n
