SUMMARY:The Sandhills Project - "Future Breaching Experiment"
DESCRIPTION:Description: The Future Breaching Experiment integrates the efforts of leading industry partners\, research and development institutes\, and Service members to address the evolving character of ground combat. The experiment seeks to highlight current breaching capabilities through practice and live experimentation in simulated conditions. Experimentation occurs on realistic and challenging obstacles replicating real-world challenges observed abroad. The obstacles are derived from two operational vignettes: complex obstacles in depth (2-3km) and a dispersed defense network in urban terrain. \nTheme: Innovation and Breaching – leveraging current capabilities for rapid implementation. \nEvent Problem Statement: US and partnered nations must maneuver through an extensive obstacle effort several kilometers in depth. The obstacle effort is under persistent observation\, referenced for indirect fires\, and subject to signal interference. US and partnered nations must also maneuver through dispersed obstacle effort in within dense urban terrain. The obstacle effort is under heightened observation from civilian structures\, referenced for indirect fires\, and subject to enemy and structural signal interference\, increased usage of barriers and structural fires leveraged as weapons. \nObjectives: \n\nDemonstrate and experiment with current capabilities in: obstacle intelligence\, obscuration\, and obstacle neutralization/reduction\nIntegrate and mesh disparate platforms (e.g. sUAS\, mechanical and explosive reduction) into a functioning capability\nHighlight current capability gaps for future experimentation\n\nRSVP POCs: MAJ Robert Howell (robert.b.Howell22.mil@army.mil) (910-262-7303); MAJ Steven Calhoun (steven.l.calhoun.mil@army.mil).

SUMMARY:CMMC is a Thing (Almost) - Now What Do We Do?
DESCRIPTION:When. February 13\, 2024 at 0900-1030. \nInstructor. Laura Rodgers\, Director of Cybersecurity Practice\, Secure Computing Institute and Director\, NC-PaCE \n\n\n\nAbout. After nearly four years of multiple changes to the CMMC model\, it has been published in the CFR as a Proposed Final Rule\, and is expected to be published as a Final Rule in early 2025. One of the most important – and unexpected – changes in CMMC is the requirement that defense contractor’s managed service providers that have access to your sensitive data must also undergo a successful 3rd party CMMC assessment BEFORE the contractor can be assessed. Because of this new requirement\, it is important that your MSP/MSSP attend this webinar as well. \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer recently issued a memo describing what FedRAMP “equivalency” means. If your company’s sensitive data is being stored or processed in a cloud environment\, you need to understand the implications of this memo. \n\n\n\nThis informative webinar will include: \n\n\n\n\nAn overview of the new CMMC model and the DoD CIO Memo\n\n\n\nKey changes to CMMC and how they affect your organization\n\n\n\nWhat you should be doing now to be eligible to win contracts in 2025 and beyond\n\n\n\nInformation about the conversations you need to be having with your MSPs and cloud service providers\n\n\n\nStrategies for navigating changing regulations\n\n\n\nResources to help you develop and strengthen you cybersecurity compliance program\n\n\n\n\nJoin us to gain valuable knowledge and actionable strategies to ensure your organization’s compliance with the latest cybersecurity regulations. \n\n\n\nRegistration. This is a free webinar; however registration is required to receive the log-in credentials. Click here to register.
