Gold Coast provides a forum to educate\, guide\, and assist businesses\, large and small\, in support of the warfighter mission within The Department of the Navy and throughout the DoD. \nHISTORY \nThe Department of the Navy (DON) Gold Coast\, small business opportunity event began with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Port Hueneme Office of Small Business. NSWC had a strong need to interface with the Defense Contractors who were or would like to do business with the government in that area. The industry meetings became known as Gold Coast for the beach areas north of Santa Monica\, which carried the same name. Gold Coast industry meetings were successful in attracting companies from Southern California as well as local Oxnard Plain firms. DON Small Business Deputies from the San Diego area began to attend and participate as well in the early 1990’s. The success of the program led to a joint decision to share the load and rotate the responsibility for putting on an event with government agencies from each of the participating systems commands being represented. Gold Coast would be rotated through several agencies in the Southern California area. The first Systems Command to lead Gold Coast was Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) the forerunner to Naval Information Warfare (NAVWAR) Systems Command in 2004. Click here to learn more.

SUMMARY:CMMC Level 1 for Federal Contractors
DESCRIPTION:Most defense contractors know they need to deal with CMMC. What they don’t know is exactly how to do it\, or where to start. The requirements are clear enough on paper: 15 security practices\, a self-assessment\, an executive affirmation filed in SPRS. \nBut translating that into action? That’s where companies get stuck. They read the same guidance documents three times\, buy tools they don’t need\, or pay consultants thousands of dollars for work they could do themselves. \nStarting July 6 – July 29\, Cape Fear Community College\, in partnership with the North Carolina Military Business Center\, is offering a hands-on CMMC Level 1 course designed specifically for small and mid-sized contractors who want to get this done efficiently and affordably. \nThe course is online\, so you can  join virtually from anywhere. This isn’t limited to the Cape Fear region. If you have an internet connection\, you can participate. \nOver 8 evening sessions across 4 weeks (Mondays and Wednesdays\, 6 to 9 PM)\, participants work through the entire Level 1 process: \n\nScoping your FCI environment so you know exactly what’s covered\nImplementing the 15 required practices with real configurations and policies\nBuilding your evidence pack so you’re audit-ready\nCompleting the self-assessment and preparing your executive affirmation\nFiling in SPRS before you leave the final session\n\nParticipants work on their own systems and documents during the course\, with direct support when questions come up. \nThis is a guided\, control-by-control implementation process where participants configure their own systems and leave with a completed self-assessment ready to file in SPRS. Over 8 evening sessions across 4 weeks\, participants work through each of the 15 required security practices with specific guidance on hardware\, software\, and configuration settings that satisfy each control. Questions are addressed in real time\, whether high-level or deeply technical. \nThe support doesn’t end when class does. The course includes 30 days of follow-up support after the final session\, plus one-on-one office hours throughout the program for individualized help on your specific situation. \nWhen. July 6 – July 29\, 2026 \nCost: $765 (all materials included) \nSeats: 25 available \nFor more information\, see the attached flyer. \nQuestions? Contact Tim Malone\, Regional Program Manager at NCMBC\, at malonet@ncmbc.us or (910) 728-7194. \nRegister

SUMMARY:Construction Industry Day GSA 1800 F Building Revitalization\, Washington\, DC
DESCRIPTION:June 2\, 2026 10:00 am – 3:30 pm \nGSA 1800 F Building Revitalization\, Washington\, DC \nThe U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)\, Public Buildings Service (PBS)\, will host an Industry Day event in Washington DC\, on Tuesday\, June 2nd\, from 10:00AM – 3:30PM\, for all businesses (including\, but not limited to\, general contractors\, subcontractor trades\, and material suppliers) interested in the upcoming GSA 1800 F Building Modernization Design-Bid-Build (DBB) /Construction-Manager-as-Constructor (CMc) Contract. \nThis event offers interested parties the opportunity to see the proposed project features\, interact with GSA and other attendees\, and provide feedback to help the Government improve project outcomes. This event is neither a solicitation nor a request for a proposal. All information contained herein is tentative and/or estimated and subject to change. Mandatory pre-registration is required and no walk-in-registrations are allowed. This includes virtual attendees. For security purposes\, registration is required by Thursday\, May 28\, 2026. Event Registration should be done here: \nhttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/1MG7AFGnhaWmYnr_PNJX_jsNrGLjR-p905JHuSlLEK_E/edit \nProcurement Strategy: The 1800 F Building Modernization project is defined as a Major Repair and Alteration Construction project. GSA plans to seek one (1) construction contract with multiple deliverables: core and shell\, building interior\, and building exterior work. The core and shell work is anticipated to have 100% design by October 2026 (solicitation target) and is planned to be awarded at a firm-fixed-price. The building interior work is anticipated to have approximately 50% design by October 2026 and is planned to be awarded at a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) ceiling. The building exterior work is anticipated to have approximately 35% design (concepts) by October 2026 and is planned to be awarded at a GMP ceiling. For the building interior and exterior work the contractor is expected to provide advisory professional management assistance to GSA during the project planning and design phases. These services are provided at a firm-fixed-price. The contractor then acts as the construction manager during the construction phase. These services are established at a GMP (or ceiling) as a contract option at award and may be converted to firm-fixed-price upon design completion and exercise of the option. \nThe procurement method is expected to be a 2-Phase Request for Proposal (RFP). Phase I will be a request for qualifications (July anticipated issue date); Phase II will be a request for pricing (October anticipated issue date). Award will be made based on the best value to the Government. \nSeparate from this Industry Day\, the GSA is conducting market research for this requirement via a Sources Sought Notice.  Please see the Sources Sought Notice on www.SAM.gov.  All responses are welcome. \nBackground: 1800 F Street is more than just GSA’s headquarters\, it’s a living piece of federal architectural history. Constructed in 1917 as a pioneering model of modern office design\, this building has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of government while maintaining its architectural integrity. As a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places\, it represents a unique opportunity to showcase federal real estate management at its best. GSA’s goal is to execute a comprehensive project to preserve the building’s historical significance while transforming it into a 21st-century model of innovative workplace design and operational excellence two blocks from the White House. \nProject Goals: The project seeks to transform the historic building from a series of incremental renovations into a long-term\, adaptable federal asset. The primary objective is to build out a space that can adapt to future workforce and multi-tenant requirements. This project is positioned as a significant effort for GSA to not only upgrade its headquarters infrastructure but also to set a new standard for the federal workplace. The project will benefit the taxpayers by revitalizing the building\, adding value\, and reopening 40% of the building currently sitting idle due to inadequate ventilation. \nProfessional Services: \nNEPA – GSA has approved this project for NEPA pursuant to AutoCATEX 5.3(j) of the PBS NEPA Desk Guide contingent upon GSA’s compliance with Section 106 of the NHPA and the 2010 EA/FONSI. \nA/E – GSA has hired Shalom Baranes Associates and Perkins & Will\, as Architect of Record and Design Architects\, respectively. The designs will adhere to the new GSA PBS Core Buildings Standards. \nCMa/CxP – An award against a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) will be made for Construction Management for Construction Manager-as-Advisor (CMa) and Commissioning Provider (CxP) services. GSA expects to award a task order this summer. \nArt-in-Architecture (AiA) – There will be a concurrent Art-in-Architecture (AiA) project\, resulting in new site-specific artwork commissioned for the renovated building. This effort will be led by GSA’s Fine Art Program. \nProject Schedule: This office anticipates award of a contract for these services no later than the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2027. Contract duration is estimated to be 18 – 24 months\, with substantial completion in the Fall of 2028. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 236220\, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $45M.   \nProject Cost: Estimated magnitude of construction: $275\,000\,000 to $325\,000\,000.  This project is subject to the availability of funds. \nThe Design and Construction Industry Day consists of: \nTuesday\, June 2\, 2026\, 10:00 am – 3:30 pm (please arrive between 9:30am -10am) \nLocation: Auditorium\, 1800 F St. NW Washington\, DC 20405.  For virtual attendees\, instructions will be provided following registration \n\nGSA Presentations\nQuestions and Answers Session\nNetworking: Following the GSA presentations\, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other attendees. There will also be GSA representatives in attendance who can be consulted about process\, doing work with GSA\, small business opportunities\, etc.\n\nAll interested parties\, regardless of event attendance\, are encouraged to voluntarily submit responses to the questions below (via the link provided)\, constructive input\, or additional questions. Responses are intended to initiate discussion during a facilitated\, group question and answer session. \nCLICK HERE TO RESPOND TO DESIGN & CONSTRUCTABILITY QUESTIONS TO INDUSTRY- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1MG7AFGnhaWmYnr_PNJX_jsNrGLjR-p905JHuSlLEK_E/edit.  Vendors will have the opportunity to ask questions of GSA at the Industry Day event. \nThis notice does not constitute a solicitation\, nor request for any proposal. This announcement and the Design and Construction Industry Day event is for planning purposes only. The acquisition strategy for this proposed project has not yet been developed. Response to this notice is strictly voluntary. SUMMARY:From Service to Stability: Advancing Veteran Homeownership 2026 Q2 Symposium | Homeownership Pillar
DESCRIPTION:The LendingTree Foundation’s 2026 Q2 Symposium\, From Service to Stability: Advancing Veteran Homeownership\, will explore how cross-sector collaboration can expand access to sustainable homeownership for veterans. Centered on the power of public-private partnerships\, this event will bring together leaders from financial institutions\, higher education\, and community organizations who are working to better serve those who have served our country. The symposium will begin with a lender-focused conversation\, highlighting how financial institutions are designing and delivering specialized mortgage products\, improving access to capital\, and addressing the unique needs of veteran borrowers. The discussion will then expand to a broader community perspective\, examining how institutions and organizations that directly support veterans can partner more effectively with lenders to create seamless pathways to homeownership. This includes a focus on the transition from military to civilian life and the role stable housing plays in long-term financial well-being. \nTogether\, these conversations will provide a comprehensive look at how coordinated efforts across sectors can help move veterans from service to stability—ensuring not only access to homeownership\, but the support needed to sustain it. \nWhen.
