DESCRIPTION:Course Description \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis course instruction is dedicated to the technical aspects of solar photovoltaic (PV) design and installation. This includes a focus on system types\, components\, applications\, design\, and best practices for installation\, maintenance\, and troubleshooting. The 5-day course is based on NABCEP’s Learning Objectives for NABCEP PV Associate. Students completing this course are eligible to sit for the North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals (NABCEP) PV Associate Exam. \nPrerequisites: This is an introductory course and there are no prerequisites to take this course. \nCourse Length: 35 hours – 7 hours a day over 5 days \nLearning Objectives: Students will be able to: \n\nIdentify photovoltaic system components and system types\nCalculate electrical energy and power\nIdentify optimum sites for solar electric systems\nCalculate electrical loads\nCorrectly size system components\nDesign series and parallel configurations for solar equipment\nDesign a basic grid-tie PV system\nEstimate PV system energy production\nUnderstand PV system specification sheets\nUnderstand safety standards of installing PV systems\nIdentify your competency level regarding the tasks on the NABCEP PV Associate Job Task Analysis and gauge readiness to take the NABCEP PV Associate Exam based on NABCEP PV Associate Learning Objectives.\n\nCourse Expectations: Attendance during at least 90% of the live presentation is required to receive a certificate of completion and register to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam. \nAs a participant of the grant program\, we expect that all participants that complete the course also complete the post-training survey. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNABCEP PV Associate Exam \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpon completion of the Fundamentals of Solar PV Design and Installation course\, course attendees will be eligible to sit for the North American Board of Certified Energy Professionals (NABCEP) PV Associate exam.
