The intent of this Vendor Industry Day event is to invite vendors/contractors to share their capabilities with the Air Force to provide new capabilities or better fulfill anticipated requirements. This is an opportunity for Industry to propose new and innovative solutions to the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The areas of interest are Warehouse Modernization\, Jet/Facility Maintenance\, Emergency Management Software\, Civil Engineering Solutions\, and Base Security however additional ideas for innovation are welcomed. \nSee the below table for highlights the lists of categories and some ideas within those categories. The ideas within those categories are NOT solely what the Government is looking for\, merely some suggestions. \n \nAdditionally\, the government is requesting industry to provide a statement of capability in preparation for the Industry Day.  The statement of capability shall consist of not more than 10 pages describing the responder’s ability to demonstrate. Companies planning to participate in the Industry Day activities shall provide one consolidated attendance request\, with the company name\, point of contact\, title\, email address\, phone number\, whether or not a one-on-one session is desired\, and to fill out and send Attachment 2 (available on the SAM.gov posting). \nAll questions are due by 20 December 2022. \nThe government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request. She is also a professor in the Department of Statistics and Principal Investigator for the Laboratory for Analytic Sciences (LAS). The LAS is an academic-industry-government collaboration to rapidly innovate and solve mission-relevant problems for the Intelligence Community. Prior to joining NC State\, Dr. Wilson was a jointly appointed research staff member at the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute and Systems and Analyses Center (2011-2013); associate professor at Iowa State University (2008-2011); Scientist 5 at Los Alamos National Laboratory (1999-2008); and senior statistician and operations research analyst with Cowboy Programming Resources (1995-1999). \nTed Anderson is a seasoned Government Relations specialist and managing director with the SIGNAL Group (https://signaldc.com/ ). \nTed is a retired Army combat arms officer with extensive experience in worldwide joint contingency planning and operations\, legislative programs\, and Department of Defense policy. After serving nineteen years on parachute status at FT Bragg\, NC in various elite airborne units\, he completed his twenty-three-year career at the Pentagon. Since retiring in 2003\, Mr. Anderson has provided strategic planning and marketing\, business development and government consulting services to a wide variety of defense companies and contractors. \nPrior to retirement from the Army\, Mr. Anderson served four years in the Office of Legislative Liaison for the Secretary of the Army. He was personally accountable for developing and implementing congressional goals and objectives for Army transformation policy\, readiness/training issues\, current/strategic/contingency world-wide operations and policy\, and mobilization plans and policy\, and aggressively implemented strategies that contributed in large part to the Army’s Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR). While serving as Chief of the Policy Branch in Legislative Liaison\, Mr. Anderson was additionally responsible for all Army personnel issues\, military construction/real estate\, base realignment and closure\, Army medical issues\, chemical demilitarization\, Army logistics and material command accounts\, and the Army National Guard and Army Reserve affairs portfolio. \nIn his capacity as a liaison officer to the Congress\, Mr. Anderson traveled extensively while escorting Members and staff throughout the world. Additionally\, he planned and conducted numerous joint service trips\, including field hearings on the East and West Coasts that further solidified the lasting relationships with Members\, committee staff\, and personal staff. \nMr. Anderson has held multiple combat command assignments\, holds the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster\, the Purple Heart\, various joint awards\, and many foreign military badges. Additionally\, following the attack on the Pentagon on September 11\, 2001\, Mr. Anderson was awarded the Soldiers Medal for Valor\, the nation’s highest award for bravery in peacetime\, which was presented by the Secretary of the Army for heroism rendered on behalf of the many victims he rescued from the burning building on that fateful day. \nHis other military tours included\, 82d Airborne Division\, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)\, other units within XVIIIth Airborne Corps\, and an assignment as a Department of Defense Arms Control Inspector with the On-Site Inspection Agency\, and various Classified (Assignments) tours overseas. \nTed holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Government Affairs from New Mexico Military Institute\, Roswell\, New Mexico\, a B. A. in Education from Bowling Green State University\, Ohio\, and a M. A. in International Relations from the Government Affairs Institute\, Georgetown University. He was awarded lifetime membership to the Wounded Warrior Project\, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW)\, and belongs to the American Legion and The Association of the United States Army. \nMary Taylor is a Senior Manager with Signal and works in the national security practice to execute clients’ national security\, intelligence\, and cybersecurity priorities. Prior to joining Signal\, Mary directly served Virginia’s Lt. Governor Winsome Sears on her Transition Committee after the election. Mary helped the Lt. Governor get acclimated\, organized\, and prepared to take office. \nPrior to serving the Lt. Governor of Virginia\, Mary spent two years working in the aerospace\, defense\, and government services sector at Harris Williams\, an investment bank\, where she assisted in the mergers and acquisitions of companies valued in the middle market\, ranging between $500 million and $1 billion. She has also served as the Campaign Manager for former Virginia Delegate Manoli Loupassi and has previously interned for former Congressman Bob Goodlatte and Virginia Delegate Tony Wilt. \nMary is deeply connected to the political network of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Having grown up in politics\, her network goes far beyond her professional career and reaches to both sides of the aisle. Her father\, Chris Saxman\, served in the Virginia House of Delegates for nearly a decade and served as co-Chair for John McCain’s Virginia Presidential Campaign in 2008. She spent the free time of her childhood on the campaign trails and met people that she has remained in close contact with. She has immediate connections to senior advisors on the House January 6 select committee\, Congressman Ben Cline\, Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner\, the Lt. Governor and Governor of Virginia\, the Governor’s Administration\, and even former President Trump’s National Security Council. Tovo (USA\, Ret) Bio \n \nUpon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy in 1983\, General Tovo began his career in the Infantry. Over the course of his 35-year Army career\, General Tovo developed and led high-performing organizations at increasing levels of responsibility\, from a 12-man Special Forces ‘A-team’ to the 34\,000-strong Army Special Operations Command\, which included all of the Army’s special operations organizations and capabilities. General Tovo led units in dynamic\, high-risk\, fast-paced\, and ambiguous environments during six combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan\, peacekeeping in the Balkans\, and refugee relief in Turkey and Iraq. He was intimately involved in planning many significant operations\, such as the northern front portion of the Iraq invasion; targeting of Al Qaeda in Iraq from 2006-2010; development of Iraqi Special Operations Forces; and restructuring the advisory effort in Afghanistan in 2013. As a Green Beret\, he spent much of his career advising and assisting foreign partners in developing their own high-performing teams and building effective organizational processes. He has worked extensively with partners in the Middle East\, Europe\, and the Western Hemisphere. \nScholarly Work/Publications/Awards\nGeneral Tovo published in Strategic Challenges for Counterinsurgency and the Global War on Terrorism\, edited by Williamson Murray. He also wrote “From the Ashes of the Phoenix”\, a historical analysis of stratagems from the Vietnam War that should be incorporated in the Nation’s ongoing struggle against global jihadism.
