She is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and served as an Air Force officer where she was a recipient of the Air Medal. Kelley’s champion leadership brings robust cybersecurity within the reach of everyone. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTim Kuno\n\n\n\n\nProfessor of Cybersecurity \n\nTim Kuno is a Professor of Cybersecurity at Defense Acquisition University since April 2022.  He has a 15-year background in cybersecurity supporting the Defense Acquisition System. His cybersecurity experience in DoD acquisition includes being the Cyber Lead and Information Systems Security Manager for an acquisition program office at Naval Air Systems Command. He was responsible for the overall cybersecurity for systems developed\, acquired and sustained by the Air Combat Electronics Program Office.  He led the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorizations (A&As)\, Cyber Table Top (CTT) events and coordinated cyber test and evaluation events for the multiple respective systems.  Prior to this he served 25 years in the Navy\, primarily working in Naval Aviation on platforms including F-35\, F/A-18\, P-3\, LC-130 aircraft.

In her position with the Process Optimization team Casey brings her skills and perspective in areas such as: CAD modeling\, Lean Six Sigma\, Analyzing Supply Chains\, Manufacturing Process\, Automated Manufacturing\, Simulation and Quality Control. Casey has a B.S. in industrial and systems engineering degree from NC State University. She also has completed OSHA 2255: Principles of Ergonomics\, Lean 200: Applying the Fundamentals\, Lean 300: Facilitating Continuous Improvement Activities and Training Within Industry: Job Instruction Training. In her free time\, Casey enjoys hiking\, traveling\, and trying new things. She is based in the Raleigh\, NC area and helps to advance IES’s extension and outreach mission/vision across the state through her work in all hundred counties.

DESCRIPTION:The Internet of Things (IoT)\, originally coined in 1999\, has made its way into the vernacular only in the past few years; it is now commonly associated as being a puzzle piece of Smart Manufacturing. What lacked at the turn of the century was a clear understanding of how these “new-concept” devices would talk to systems of importance\, e.g. a controller or ingestion mechanism\, and\, more importantly\, how they would be ultimately used to benefit our everyday lives. Home automation\, smart phone-enabled and other simple devices soon became commonplace\, and we began to see the benefit of these “things”. Fast-forward\, industry found great utility in placing these devices within their own systems to capture information that may not have been native when the original system was developed. Jason’s success is measured by the success of the lives he touched and countless students who are now working professionals. Jason believes the key to the success of students and industry alike stems from the unmatched resources found in the state and the solid foundation built by our tremendous educational system.
