SUMMARY:DEFTECH Coffee Call: Special Operations Innovation Needs and Gaps (Unclass)
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Friday\, May 5\, 2023\, @ 0900-1030 ET for another DEFTECH Coffee Call – where discussion trumps powerpoint  (TEAMS Link Below) \nTopic:  Special Operations Innovation Needs and Gaps  \nGuest Speaker: \nMr. Tom Earnhardt serves in the Force Development Directorate at the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC). He is the senior civilian for Technology and Information Warfare\, and he partners closely with J5 (Futures)\, J8 (Resources) and JSOC units to pursue\, evaluate\, experiment and field bold technological initiatives aimed toward increasing SOF and US advantages over our adversaries. Tom and his Directorate maintain the “Top X Gaps List” which serves to prioritize gaps the Command needs to address to perform its mission.  JSOC prepares assigned\, attached\, and augmentation forces\, and when directed\, conducts special operations against threats to protect the Homeland and U.S. interests abroad. This “no fail” mission is complicated by complex global challenges presented by adversaries in an ever-evolving\, technology-dependent environment. Prior to his civilian career\, Tom completed 26+ years of enlisted and commissioned service in the US Army where he served in conventional and SOF formations\, and he relies daily on those experiences and relationships to prepare future SOF formations for the challenges ahead. \n2023 DEFTECH Coffee Call: \nMicrosoft Teams meeting \nJoin on your computer\, mobile app or room device Click here to join the meeting <https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_NzE1OTRlYzgtMWFmNC00YzNkLThkY2UtODFlYjZhMTM4NWEz%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22c0495bcc-6df9-4950-8d49-b5f874ab28f0%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%229d3523b2-835a-4474-83f0-b634bb0850a7%22%7d> \nMeeting ID: 286 586 268 492 \nPasscode: SG3mYd \nDownload Teams <https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app> | Join on the web <https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-teams/join-a-meeting> \nOr call in (audio only) \n+1 980-296-2533\,\,849190916# <tel:+19802962533\,\,849190916#>   United States\, Charlotte \nPhone Conference ID: 849 190 916# \nWebsite: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_NzE1OTRlYzgtMWFmNC00YzNkLThkY2UtODFlYjZhMTM4NWEz%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22c0495bcc-6df9-4950-8d49-b5f874ab28f0%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%229d3523b2-835a-4474-83f0-b634bb0850a7%22%7d \nQuestions or assistance\, contact:\nNorth Carolina Defense Technology Transition Office (DEFTECH)   \n \nDennis Lewis\nlewisd@ncmbc.us\n703-217-3127 \nBob Burton\nburtonr@ncmbc.us\n910-824-9609

SUMMARY:SOF Week 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Global Special Operations Forces (SOF) Foundation (GSOF) is truly honored and excited to co-sponsor the newly envisioned “SOF Week” with U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe former Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) was a successful annual program for USSOCOM. Its expansion into “SOF Week” beginning in 2023 will build on that success by unifying the geographically\, operationally\, and Service dispersed SOF enterprise and offering a variety of programs for its many stakeholders and supporters. \nGSOF is uniquely positioned to execute this vision as the only professional association serving the entire international SOF community. It has planned and produced SOF-specific symposiums in the U.S. and Europe since 2015 and possesses a vast network including Allied and Partner Nations\, as well the GSOF Advisory Council of former senior SOF leaders and supporters worldwide. Also\, by partnering with Clarion Events\, a premier global exhibition organizer\, our team will lend its joint expertise to deliver on USSOCOM’s objectives and host a world-class inaugural “SOF Week” in May 2023. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will be in-person/virtual.  SOF Week is the expansion and rebranding of the annual SOCOM Industry Conference.  SOF Week will reflect USSOCOM’s interests bringing together its community for industry collaboration\, professional development\, internal networking\, spouse associations\, benevolent associations and international partnerships.  Lastly\, this is a non-International Special Operations Force (ISOF) conference year. \nUSSOCOM with its Co-Sponsor\, Global SOF Foundation\, will host several major events during SOF Week: \n\n\n\nIndustry Conference (Formerly known as SOFIC)\nMultiple SOF Panels and Fireside Chats\nSOF Annual Awards Ceremony and Dinner\nSenior Spouse Conference\nSenior Enlisted Symposium (T)\nRetired SOF Senior Leaders Conference (RSSL)\nSOF for Life Transition Seminar\n\n\n\nPlease visit www.sofweek.org for additional information.
