Expand Your Federal Funding Opportunities with Grants (June 29)

The North Carolina Military Business Center, North Carolina Defense Technology Transition Office and Grants Office LLC will host the “Expand Your Federal Funding Opportunities with Grants” webinar on June 29, 2022 from 1000-1100 EST.

Description: Contracts are a great source of federal funding for small businesses. But grants can provide much needed monies to support innovation and expansion. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are the most popular opportunities to fund research and development for small businesses. However, through collaboration, there are other grant opportunities out there.

Join the North Carolina Defense Technology Transition Office (DEFTECH), the North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC),  and the Grants Office as we explore the grant funding landscape for small businesses. We will cover the basics of the Infrastructure Innovation and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding as well as opportunities to collaborate with institutes of higher education to expand participation in grant efforts. If you’re interested in research and development or technology expansion funding avenues, you won’t want to miss this event!

Speaker: Liz Shay is a Senior Grants Development Consultant for Grants Office LLC, leading the higher education vertical. She has over a decade of experience in higher education research and instruction and has worked with many grant programs, including everything from federal funds like the National Science Foundation to small community foundations. In her role at Grants Office, Liz helps institutes of higher education and related organizations find and apply for federal, state, and foundation grants relevant for their unique project goals.

Registration. This is a free webinar; however, pre-registration is required in order to receive the virtual platform credentials. Credentials will provided in the confirmation email and also emailed out a few days prior to the training.
