NC Military Business Center Welcomes Daniel Quinn as Business Development Professional in support of the Triangle Region

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Quinn as Business Development Professional. Serving businesses statewide from Wake Technical Community College, Daniel will also provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses in the following counties to compete for, win and grow jobs through federal contracts: Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Lee, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake and Warren. 

Daniel will work every day to: identify current and future prime and subcontracting opportunities (with a focus on the the Department of State and the US Agency for International Development); notify companies statewide of these opportunities; and provide one-on-one assistance to help companies in his service area to bid on and win federal contracts.  Daniel will also join a robust NCMBC energy and environmental industry team.  

“The business development team is the heart of the NCMBC,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director.  “Daniel’s experience – from both the business and government perspectives – in the Department of Defense, Department of State and North Carolina Departments of Public Safety and Transportation – will serve him well in assisting businesses of all sizes and experience levels in competing for federal contracts.”  

Prior to joining the NCMBC, Daniel spent 25 years of professional leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. He held multiple director-level positions within the Department of Defense and has also served in numerous financial management and contract administration positions with the Department of Defense, Department of State and the North Carolina Departments of Public Safety and Transportation.  

In the private sector, Daniel has held key leadership positions, including President, CFO and COO in the industrial, defense and healthcare industries.  He has also been an entrepreneur in residence and board member for a corporate venture capital group.  Daniel has founded and co-founded multiple business ventures. Currently, he serves as President of Blaine Ward LLC and advisor and board member for the Inception Micro Angel Funds-RTP.  

Daniel is a US Army veteran who has served as both non-commissioned and commissioned officer with multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from Campbell University, and is a certified Defense Financial Manager (CDEM), Project Management Associate, and Contracting Officer. 

Daniel currently resides in Wake Forest with his wife and two sons.
