NCMBC/DEFTECH Appoint Todd Ferry as Program Manager

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) and North Carolina Defense Technology Transition (DEFTECH) Office are pleased to announce the appointment of Todd Ferry as DEFTECH Program Manager.  Prior to joining the NCMBC/DEFTECH, Todd retired from the US Marine Corps after serving 30-years, last serving as the Deputy Commander of Marine Corps Installations East and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.

In this role with DEFTECH, Todd will connect with crucial Department of Defense (DoD) and federal agency representatives to understand emerging technology needs and communicate opportunities to the NC innovation ecosystem; coordinate with North Carolina’s university and community college systems to identify cutting-edge research and technologies with potential defense applications; scout for breakthrough technologies within the state to address national security problems, focusing on identifying viable candidates for technology transition; and provide guidance to businesses on navigating the federal procurement process, identifying defense application opportunities, and effectively positioning themselves to meet federal requirements.

“In welcoming Todd Ferry to the DEFTECH team, we are not just adding a member with an impressive 30-year tenure in the US Marine Corps but also embracing a wealth of experience and leadership,” said Bob Burton, Interim Director, DEFTECH.  “Todd’s journey with DEFTECH continues in a new capacity, and we couldn’t be more excited about the path ahead.”
