NC Community College: Support to Western NC

Fayetteville Technical Community College is joining efforts to provide relief to communities in western North Carolina that were impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Next week, FTCC is providing a tractor-trailer truck for a special collection drive by the North Carolina Community College System during the system’s biennial conference in Raleigh.

Supporting Western NC: Business and Civilian Support

The North Carolina Military Business Center is in the process of collecting credible information to support Western Carolina with supplies and recovery efforts. 

FEMA will be spending the next few weeks doing a preliminary assessment prior to establishing Joint Field Offices in order to coordinate efforts with the NCDOT and the State Emergency Management Office.

Low-Interest Disaster Loans from the SBA are Available to Businesses and Residents in North Carolina (Tropical Storm Helene)

Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available to businesses and residents in North Carolina following the announcement of a Presidential disaster declaration for Tropical Storm Helene that began on Sept. 25.

“SBA’s mission-driven team stands ready to help small businesses and residents in North Carolina impacted by this disaster in every way possible under President Biden’s disaster declaration for certain affected areas,” said SBA Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman.

Ground Vehicles and Maritime Focus at Defense Industrial Supply Chain (DISC) Summit (October 29-30, Charlotte, NC)

Sustaining Supply Chain for Ground Vehicles / Maritime Systems (Agency). Government panel members will discuss policies, procedures, acquisitions and industry engagement initiatives to sustain, expand and enhance the supply chain for existing and future ground vehicle and maritime systems.  Panel members will address and seek industry input on measures to optimize supply chains and supply chain management, while reducing risk (to industry and government) and encouraging domestic manufacturing to address supply chain vulnerabilities, build combat power and project it globally.

The North Carolina Military Business Center encourages all textile and tactical equipment-related businesses in North Carolina to attend the Defense Logistics Agency’s free Joint Advanced Planning Brief for Industry (JAPBI).
