The Marine Corps installations across North Carolina are preparing for a significant surge in construction work in the near future. The Marine Corps Barracks Initiative (MCBI) has currently allocated $2 billion in barracks repair projects (DBB) and repair by replacement projects for FY26, with an additional $3.5 billion anticipated over the next five years.
At MCAS-Cherry Point, the Fleet Readiness Center Optimization and Modernization Program (FIOP) is projected to reach $12.6 billion over the next 20 years, with approximately $800 million in DBB contracts expected to be awarded in FY26.
