BIOGRAPHY.

Randall L. “Randy” Chandler retired September 30, 2017 from the Defense Commissary Agencyheadquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia after 31 years of service. He began his commissary career in 1980 with the Marine Corps Commissary System at Camp Lejeune, N.C.  He was serving as the Store Directo r at Camp Lejeune in 1991 when selected to be a Marine Corp representative to the transformation team developing the process to consolidate the four services commissaries into the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). 

His first assignment with DeCA was as a Deployment Team Chief responsible for the roll-out of DeCA’s Interim Business System to commissaries in Alaska, Guam and Japan.  He would then become one of the founding members of DeCA’s Marketing Business Unit which centralized DeCA’s buying at the agencies Fort Lee Headquarters. 

In 1998 Mr. Chandler left his DeCA position as Chief of Semi-Perishable Buying to become Vice President of Overseas Service Corporation a worldwide military broker headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Mr. Chandler returned to DeCA in 2005 and would serve three tours as the Director of Sales, as the Area Director of the Northeast Region and Area Director of the Central Region.   

He retired as a Senior Advisor to the Agency Director tasked with implementing a DeCA private label program and variable pricing.

He lives with his wife Donna in Cedar Point, North Carolina.
