Dr. Larry McCallister was appointed to the Senior Executive Service (SES) in September 2013 and serves as the as the South Atlantic Division Programs Director where he oversees work in the Southeast United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He is responsible for the US Corps of Engineers (USACE) civil works mission consisting of planning, engineering and construction for navigation, flood control, stream bank and shore protection, hurricane and storm damage reduction, emergency preparedness response and recovery, hydropower, water supply, recreation, environmental protection and recovery, permitting, real estate and interagency and international support.  The South Atlantic Division has 3,815 employees and an annual operating budget of $3.5 billion.

Previously, he served as the Chief of Engineering and Construction for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).  He provides executive leadership for all technical engineering activities during planning, engineering, and construction for the military and civil works programs within USACE with a budget influence of over $35 billion and a worldwide workforce of over 34,000.

He has previously served as the SES Director of Regional Business, Military Programs, and IIS Programs for the South Atlantic Division, USACE. Prior to that position he was the Deputy District Engineer for Program/Project Management (DPM) for the Transatlantic Afghanistan District, USACE, Afghanistan, and DPM for the USACE Alaska District.
