GSA: Multiple Award Schedule Startup Springboard

If you run a business interested or participating in the federal contracting market and are interested in getting on a GSA schedule, the new Multiple Award Schedule Startup Springboard now offers a simpler way to achieve your contracting goals. The MAS Startup Springboard is a broadening of the 2016 Startup Springboard pilot program for IT companies which was created as a part of the Making it Easier (MIE) Initiative. This particular “Refresh” of the program expands schedule eligibility for all prospective contractors, particularly to newer, smaller companies who may not meet the solicitation requirement of having two years of corporate experience or financial statements. By offering this alternative to the standard GSA scheduling process, not only can small businesses streamline their contracting achievements, but government agencies can now receive solutions to high demand products and services in an increasingly timely manner.

In order to qualify for the MAS Startup Springboard, any potential offerer with less than two years of corporate experience can now:

  • Substitute the required two years of corporate experience with the individual professional experience of business owners, executives, and key management and/or personnel.
  • Substitute relevant project experience, similarly referred to as past performance, with specific project experience of business owners, executives, and key management and/or personnel.
  • Provide financial documentation that demonstrates your company’s financial responsibility in lieu of two years of financial statements.

Companies considering participating in the MAS Startup Springboard Program must still meet many other requirements and criteria in order to successfully gain inclusion within the GSA schedule. If you have been waiting on your company to meet the two year corporate and financial requirements needed to be on a GSA schedule, please reach out to your local North Carolina Military Business Center Business Development Professional for further information and resources to assist you in achieving your contracting goals!
