The NCMBC Technology Transition Office

North Carolina possesses one of the nation’s strongest combinations of research institutions, military assets, technology talent, manufacturing capability, and entrepreneurial activity.
Our challenge is not innovation.
The challenge is technology transition—moving promising technologies from research and experimentation into operational capability, federal acquisition programs, commercial production, and economic growth.
North Carolina’s opportunity is to become the nation’s leading technology transition ecosystem for national security innovation. The NCMBC Technology Transition Office plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between North Carolina innovators and National Security agencies.
The NCMBC Technology Transition Office engages North Carolina industry- and academia-based research and development (R&D) entities, grows federal and DoD involvement, and provides outreach, partnering and business assistance services to innovators in the National Security innovation ecosystem. We serve agencies and businesses in the innovation ecosystem by:
- Serving as the North Carolina liaison to DoW and federal innovation offices
- Scouting the state for breakthrough technologies
- Communicating federal technology needs
- Engaging NC innovators with federal customers
