Heather brings over 15 years of marketing and business development experience to the position. Her previous roles include a Director of Marketing and Business Development and as a Regional Marketing Director for various Property Management firms. After relocating with her family to Fairbanks, Alaska, Heather gained further experience working for an Architecture and Planning firm as a Marketing Specialist, where she was engaged in proposal development for government and private sector design-build projects.  She also worked as a contractor for the Transition Assistance Program on base before moving into Federal service as a Housing Manager at Fort Wainwright DPW, where she earned a Customer Service Award from the Garrison.

The wife of a Field Artillery Warrant Officer, Heather recently returned to the Fayetteville area with her husband and daughters where they now reside in Sampson County. A Hope Mills native and Army brat, Heather attended Fayetteville State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She went on to continue her education, earning a Master of Arts: Intelligence, Security Studies, and Analysis from Angelo State University located in San Angelo, Texas. She is currently a member of the Order of the Sword and Shield (a professional honor society for intelligence and security-based disciplines), as well as the Public Relations Society of America and the American Marketing Association. She volunteers with dispatch and logistics of relief efforts for natural disasters through multiple organizations and is certified by the State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services Medical Care Commission as an Emergency Medical Technician (Basic), a skill she has used to volunteer as a Medic with her local volunteer Fire Department.
