BIOGRAPHY.
Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Lee E. Moritz Jr. joined the North Carolina Military Business Center in January 2022 as the Business Developer serving businesses in Alexander, Ashe, Alleghany, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Watauga and Wilkes counties, and as the industry specialist for North Carolina Textiles. In this role, Lee will research and outreach military procurement opportunities matching to North Carolina companies, in particular a concentration in NC Textiles.

Lee served 21 years both in US Army and the North Carolina National Guard. He served in various assignments up to Brigade and State level staff. A Master Aviator and Maintenance Test Pilot, Lee served in a number of operational aviation and staff assignments both overseas and in North Carolina.

Lee Moritz is a graduate of Appalachian State University and attended numerous military schools to include the US Army Command and General Staff College and the National Defense University.

Lee brings to NCMBC 30 plus years of Business Development and Marketing experience. His previous roles include 25 years as Executive VP Sales for a major NC textile company and more recently as Senior Director in the defense aerospace industry. He also served 16 years as a local elected official affording the opportunity to be involved in his community and North Carolina state legislation.

Lee is a native of Conover, NC, where is resides with his wife, Michele. His hobbies include classic cars, the NC mountains and keeping up with 6 grandchildren.

Mr. Moritz’ office is located on the campus of Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC. He considers this position an honor to serve our military service members, NC businesses and the textile industry.
