NCMBC Appoints Reena Bhatia as Business Development Professional (Triangle Region)

The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Reena Bhatia as Business Development Professional.  Serving businesses statewide from Wake Technical Community College, Reena will also provide one-on-one assistance to help businesses in the following counties to compete for, win and grow jobs through federal contracts: Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Lee, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake and Warren. 

Reena will work every day to: identify current and future prime and subcontracting opportunities (with a focus on the Defense Logistics Agency, Energy; Environmental Protection Agency; US Department of Energy; US Transportation Command; and the National Guard); notify companies statewide of these opportunities; and provide one-on-one assistance to help companies in her service area to bid on and win federal contracts.  Reena will also join a robust NCMBC energy and environmental industry team.  

“The business development team is the heart of the NCMBC,” said Scott Dorney, NCMBC Executive Director.  “Reena’s broad experience in business development, capture management and proposal preparation with major defense contractors – and her experience as CEO of a small business – will serve her well in assisting businesses of all sizes and experience levels in competing for federal contracts.” 

Prior to joining the NCMBC, Reena worked 28 years supporting government contractors in business growth strategy, business development, capture management and proposal solutioning. Reena has also supported commercial companies within the United States, Middle East and in the APAC region. Reena brings extensive experience helping companies do business with the federal government within the United States and overseas. 

Reena holds a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Maryland College Park,and is an Alumni of the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business Program – National Cohort 7.
